Many thanks to everyone who participated in the second round voting.
The polls are now closed and the winners (in bold) are:

    Mother London (18)
    vs Phoenix in Obsidian (9)
City of the Beast (4) vs The Final Programme (24)
The Shores of Death (8) vs The Lives and Times of Jerry Cornelius (18)
The Champion of Garathorm (7) vs Gloriana; or, The Unfulfill'd Queen (22)
The City in the Autumn Stars (12) vs The Warlord of the Air (18)
A Cure For Cancer (8) vs Stormbringer (22)
Elric of Melniboné (14) vs The Dragon in the Sword (18)
The Adventures of Una Persson and Catherine Cornelius in the Twentieth Century (12) vs The Swords of Corum (16)
Breakfast in the Ruins (10) vs The Dreamthief's Daughter (18)
The Fortress of the Pearl (10) vs The Condition of Muzak (17)
The War Hound and the World's Pain (25) vs The Revenge of the Rose (6)
The Sailor on the Seas of Fate (10) vs The Dancers at the End of Time (20)
The Eternal Champion (25) vs The Golden Barge (5)
Elric: The Making of a Sorcerer (7) vs Behold the Man (24)
The Chronicles of Corum (17) vs The History of the Runestaff (11)
Blood: A Southern Fantasy (9) vs The English Assassin (18)

A shock result this round saw last year's winner Elric of Melniboné falling at the second fence, outpaced by the joint team of John Daker and Ulrich von Bek!

Surprisingly The Chronicles of Corum's support haemorrhaged this week (though it still won its individual pairing) and no book hit the 30+ votes mark, but both The War Hound and the World's Pain and The Eternal Champion scored 25 votes apiece making them the joint favourites going into the third round.

However, with The Final Programme and Behold the Man snapping at their heels I don't think anyone would like to predict the winners of next week's pairings.

Pairings for Round 3 will be announced shortly, with the polls opening not long after that.
_"For an eternity Allard was alone in an icy limbo where all the colours were bright and sharp and comfortless.
_For another eternity Allard swam through seas without end, all green and cool and deep, where distorted creatures drifted, sometimes attacking him.
_And then, at last, he had reached the real world – the world he had created, where he was God and could create or destroy whatever he wished.
_He was supremely powerful. He told planets to destroy themselves, and they did. He created suns. Beautiful women flocked to be his. Of all men, he was the mightiest. Of all gods, he was the greatest."
