    DODGEM DUDE--M. Moorcock & ??
[E7]Spaced Out, far out, get another car out
[Am]Dodgem Dude is[C] Dancing on the[G] Desert of the[Am] Ring
And he drives his car with style
While he[C] smiles at all the wiles
The[G] Cars go round and round and then he[E7] hits them.
[strum earnestly on E7 for about six bars then . . ]Smash them, crash them, get your chips and cash them
    [Am]Dodgem Dude don't[C] dare, don't[G] dare to under[Am]stand
And the music growls and moans
For he[C] knows he can't go home
So he's[G] grinning as the sparks fly when he[E7] hits them.
    [six of E7 again, then . . .]
Spill them, kill them, have your kicks and thrill them
Race them, chase them, turn the car and face them
[Am]Dodgem Dude is [C]Dancing on the[G] Desert of His[Am] brains.
[E7]Choose them, loose them, slow a while and use them
[Am]Dodgem Dude is[C] lonely and he[G] will not stand much[Am] more
But the impact dulls his brain
So he[C] cannot know his name
And he[G] need not think tonight when he[E7] walks back through the rain
    [six x E7]
Spill them, kill them, have your kicks and thrill them
Race them, chase them, turn the car and face them
[Am]Dodgem Dude is[C] Dancing on the[G] Desert of His[Am] brains

the riffs (nice and simple, easy for me to play!)

    Opening riff: E7
    ----0--0--0-------------------0-----------
    --------------3--0--3---------3-----------
    ------------------------------1----------
    ------------------------------2---------
    ------------------------------2--------
    ------------------------------0--------
I usually play it in first postion 'cause it's easier to do the single notes and strum the E7.

This riff is also repeated during the ''smash them, crash them,'' etc. lines as well.

The riff on the 'Dodgem Dude is dancing/don't dare/lonely'' bits is just the root notes of the chords:
    -------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------------
    ----------7-----10----9----7-------------------------
    --------------------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------------------
Slight change on the fade out. About the third time (or maybe the fourth) it shifts up on octave for a part of it:

    ----------------------------------------------------
    -------------------10---8--10--------------------
    -------------------------------------------------
    -7----10---9------------------10---9-etc
    ------------------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------

      Cheers D.F
I love your directions to strum earnestly

        Thanx LARGE, pard!

That's one of the best bits in the song, that heavy strumming.
