Yet another "[insert actor here] as Elric" thread

My top 2 choices for the role of Elric:

Adrien Brody seems like a great choice to me, if he could be gotten for a decent price. His long, sharp features look almost perfect to me for Elric, and I believe he is a talented enough actor to pull off the role.

Christian Bale could also work wonderfully - Arioch knows he could thin down as much as they wanted him to for the role (did you see him in "The Machinist?!" 121 pounds of skin and bone....). He has also shown that he can really embrace the role of a dark, brooding character.

Guess I'm a minority of one, but I think James Marsters is your man. He's got
the look down pat (hollowed cheekbones and all that). And for those who
remember the pic on a old thread here (with photoshopped long albino wig)
he had his "Spike Smirk" on in that pic, but IMNSHO his work in Buffy demon-
strates the range he would need for the role.

      As previous!!!

Firstly may I take this opportunity to pass on my greetings and salutations to all of you from the High and Mighty Panjandrum Mr Michael Moorcock Esq himself down to other neophytes like myself .

Cant get too excited about actors for the role of Elric as I am terrified about the whole project.. not that I dont want a movie based on the saga but I cant see anything coming close to doing justice to the world in my head !!

(if anyone reads LOTR and doesn't see Viggo Mortensens face when reading Aragorns name then I'm a tribble and I cant face that possibilty with Elric)

The whole Elric saga is so rich that anyone will seem flat in comparison

I appreciate that this has probably been said before but we all have to start somewhere and it's been a long day and I'm rambling

If only Julian Sands could be made to look younger ...Look at Brom's Elric then watch 'Warlock'. Perfect match.

Personally, I think Christian Bale would do a fantastic job. I saw The Machinist...talk about astounding!

              Another suggestion for Elric

OK, I'm biased, it's a mate o' mine....but he would be really good for this, I reckon: CBBC's own Young Dracula star Keith-Lee Castle

                To "Cut Glass Dave"

I'm with you a bit. I am worried. I have the images in my head. In my mind I know what Elcic looks like. My version is probably different to everyone else, as is yours. However, as long as the story line envokes the same emotions, I can't see the problem.

To be honest - and maybe this is just me - but I think David Bowie would make a great Elric. He just has that not-quite-human look to him. Despite his age, he still looks young enough to play the role. Even if not to play Elric, I think Bowie would make a great Melnibonean.

See, Keith looks good as an albino! He's also just appeared in a film called The Vampire Diaries, and series two of Young Dracula is now filming.

I'm still for Simon Woods - from HBOs Rome series. He definitely has the right look - as to whether he has the acting experience for it, is another matter. But a good gamble IMO.

And I will continue my subversive support for Tilda Swinton in the role.

god i wish micheal wincott wasnt so old... >_<
(why?! why did you get old on me?!)

fixation aside... he is gaunt without being too mcuh and he has great facials and does well with the whole tortured/torturer thing
also he is good with swords, horse riding, and does well with long hair and strange cotumes

and if they can make jeremy irons an albino they can do it for mr. wincott

                            it could work...

                              A different suggestion

My top choice for the actor of Elric would have to be the kid who played Hannibal Lecter in Rising... I think he would more then pull it off... He would totally sell it...

Especially considering how well he did acquiring a role so intimately tied to Anthony Hopkins... No easy task...

                              Thoughts?
