An Elric Movie? Mr. Moorcock could you help me on this?

Okay, I would like to ask about this because my mind tends to be a little slow at times, but what is everyone talking about? Is an Elric movie literally in the process of being made? If it is then this is literally one of my biggest hopes because with a great saga a movie should be made.
If an Elric movie were to be made then it would have to be rated R. I don't think that an albino sorcerer wielding a soul-sucking blade is not any disney movie!
I only desired to know some information on this because I know naught of what anyone speaks of... Perhaps someone will be of some help?

Yes, Jennifer, an Elric movie is being made by the Weitz brothers for Universal. Slight delay as Chris goes off to direct His Dark Materials, but that's the plan. So far we have a script, production costings and so forth, but no shooting schedule.

Thank you for the information Mr. Moorcock, I hope the movie will be accomlished! I saw your message about the Del Rey Elric books coming out next year, that's wonderful! I hope to purchase them all, for I only have a few of the books and they are pretty ancient! (I have them put up in special cases due to that fact) I also cannot wait to read the short-story!

Mr. Moorcock, can you please give us an update on the Elric movie? It seems that your last post was in August of last year? Any specifics such as writer (s), director, and production start date? Thank you.
