Originally posted by AnonymousFan of Elric as well as Hawkmoon, my impatience to see Elric on a movie screen is bigger than a Tolkien fan waiting for LOTR movies. I can't remember well if someone was talking about David BOWIE as Arioch in a later topic, but it was a great idea i think. I juste hope the movies will be at the books level, even with the changes made for the adaptation.
Maybe after Elric success, Hawkmoon will come to :D .
(sorry for the awful english of a poor french fan)
Paul BETTANY could look like this as Elric.

Not to worry pards :D ! I think I have found our actor:
[broken link]
British thespian Julian Sands...I only made him albino and gave him long hair, other than that though his features are unchanged. Now imagine with SFX makeup...Looks like Brom's Elric to me.Last edited by Rothgo; 04-12-2010, 05:11 AM.

BOTH Amano's and Brom's best renditions of him show him with a hairstyle much like the one I put on Sands. As long as the 'bangs' aren't pronounced it
actually makes him look more unusual, kind of like the ol'style Conan. It's either that or braids like a LOTR elf...
I don't think he's been given the right roles (which have been boring) to work with. I mean who would have thought Viggo Mortensen would have done such a good job as Aragorn? Based on his previous bland and rather unremarkable performances Mortensen shouldn't of been cast period. In fact he was the last-minute choice after Daniel Day-Lewis turned the role down. Sands could very well surprise in that regard. I have a feeling he has considerably greater potential, if given an interesting character to play for a change...

However, every time that I see him I get the impression that he is insane. I really mean this. He has some strange effeminate quality mixed with a disconnected facial expression.
Depressed/Emotionally disturbed=Moody...check
Frail/Effeminate=Sickly Melnibonean...check
An introspective, moody, sickly Melnibonean...
What did I tell you...he's PERFECT! If his best role was playing a Warlock it doesn't take a great stretch of the imagination to picture him as a Daemon Summoning, Chaos Worshiping Sorceror. Better=he actually LIKED the part! That insanity would do wonders for his scenes with Stormbringer and it's malevolent influence on his personality...
