_"For an eternity Allard was alone in an icy limbo where all the colours were bright and sharp and comfortless.
_For another eternity Allard swam through seas without end, all green and cool and deep, where distorted creatures drifted, sometimes attacking him.
_And then, at last, he had reached the real world – the world he had created, where he was God and could create or destroy whatever he wished.
_He was supremely powerful. He told planets to destroy themselves, and they did. He created suns. Beautiful women flocked to be his. Of all men, he was the mightiest. Of all gods, he was the greatest."

I was wondering the same thing. It seems like an age since the last one was released.

Once upon a time the cover date reflected the ACTUAL MONTH an issue was on the stands.

Actually, US comics for many years (if not decades) used to carry a cover date of about 3 months ahead of when they actually went on sale, so a comic dated May went on sale in March. That all changed in the late '80s when regular comics carried no cover date during the final two months of 1988, before recommencing again with "Jan 1989" on the cover of January's comics.

Those little coloured bars you used to get on the top of each page in regular newstand comics also had a related purpose. IIRC there were 8 colours, each one representing a week, and when a new batch of comics came in with, say, a red bar then the newsagent would remove any remaining comics with red bar from his shelves to be returned to the distributor.

You know it's funny but in Australia when you bought comics at the newsagent they were 3 months old so the date on the comics always was the date that they came out.
