Good for you Forever The Stranger! :D

I'd like to hear more opinions from women in here.
I've known a few girls who love to read MM's stuff. Most guys won't talk about sci-fi/fantasy with women. Now we can.

And Zim is da bomb! And Grr too. 8)
When they had advanced together to meet on common
ground, then there was the clash of shields, of spears
and the fury of men cased in bronze; bossed shields met
each other and the din rose loud. Then there were
mingled the groaning and the crowing of men killed and
killing, and the ground ran with blood.

Girls! Girls! Those strange foreigners with lumpy bits. Hmmmm... Can't have them on this site. (Bigoted, Chauvanistic mutterings)
        No only joking.
I honestly can't believe the amount of effort the Card Industry must put into inventing days people ignore. It must be a nightmare for their staff.
("Oh thank god, Valentine's Day is over, now for a rest!"
        Enter Manager stage left
"I don't think so, it's Business Administration Day, put up those posters and quick!")
        Grandparents Day must be hilarious!
("Thanks for the card deary, shame my rheumatism won't let me open it.
"Grandma, let's get up and dance, come on it's Grandparents day!
"Get away from me you little ruffian,")
Dear, oh dear. I tell you what, how a bout a Green Door day, or a Blue Car day, heck, what about a Tissue appreciation day!

            Hurrah!

We could have an Elric day. Everyone makes a cardboard stormbringer and is pale and moody and kills their cousins?

Isn't that one of the first lessons girls learn?

I have 3 kids and my two year old daughter is already smarter than me!

Wait, there are women in this forum too?

If I'd known that was going to happen I would have combed my goatee before logging on... or at least tried to draw an avatar depicting one of my many legendary sporting achievements. No? No, I didn't think anyone would believe that... I did play rugby once though. It really hurt.

                      [ahem]

                      Okay, I'll go now.

As I am expecting a baby, I figured you guys could guess as to which sex my other is.

I like living in America. 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays- its kind of Thank God I live in America day. As is Thanksgiving.

The best thing about the aforementioned holidays- no cards, no presents. both involve massive amounts of eating, and in my case, beer driking. The 4th involves explosives, which is always fun. TG involves football (americano, not soccer). I too could do without the Hallmark created holidays, but then again, other than Valentine's Day, I ignore most of the rest. Well, I call my mom on mother's day and my dad on father's day.

labor day is a good one too, come to think of it. I think that one was probably invented by Communists, but I enjoy it anyway. It is indeed, the I'm sick of work, let's drink beer and party day.

Sorry dlackey, I now remember complimenting you on that arrival.

Like I've said before, I'm not too bright!

                            Oh My God!!!
dlackey, is it true, can men have babies?!?!?!?
                            AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Ahem... I hope you will exscuse this slight joke on my part. I know men can't have babies and therefore you must be some strange hybrid creature from the planet Mars.
Females? On an all men site? Where we discuss masculine things? With my reputation? Bingo!!
No, it's nice to know there are actually some females on this site.
And now I'm going to studiously ignore them so I don't embarass myself. (Yet another joke!) Farewell!

Why do people always look at the bad side of these things. You're meant to be pale and moody and make love to your cousin . Remember this all has to be done under the influence of a lot of drugs and performed with style and eloquence at all times.

But back to the subject of Valentines...

What I think everyone has forgotten about this day, and what I HATE most of all about Valentines, is how unbearably smug all couples look when they know they are in the presence of single people. The cards just seem to be an additional torment - especially when they line them up with the stupid cuddly toy presents on their desk in front of you.

                                The Horror.... The horror
