  • Just a thought for sci-fi/fantasy fans-August Convention

    Hello,

I'm most likely going to go to the Star Trek convention on Saturday,August 19th. It runs from August 17th to the 20th, 2006.

Is anyone here going to be in the Las Vegas area next month?

If any of my fellow Moorcockians go to it, I might be found roaming around.

    Thanks,

    -Lemec

    Hello,

I thought I would "bump" this post, to remind everyone that the Star Trek convention will be here in about 21 days. (At the Las Vegas Hilton)

In case anyone wanted to go and needed to make travel plans and try to get tickets before they sell out, haha.

This is the main guest list, but there are other guests there as well to meet and maybe get their autograph.

They have the conventions in various locations,so I don't expect everyone to go all the way to Las Vegas to go to one, but they are celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Star Trek. Maybe they will release information here about Star Trek XI. If they do, I'll be sure to report it. haha.

    Thanks!

It was really a great convention!

There was a large dealer's room.

They even had some original Mego Star Trek toys and things like that.

There were many nice actors there to talk to!

      remarkable!

I only went on Saturday. I missed Scott Bakula, he was on Sunday.

His autograph ticket did sell out fast. I could still have seen him on stage,
but I wanted to save some things for next year. haha

P.S. I forgot to say earlier that I did get to ask James Darren a question the microphone stand. A Time Tunnel question.

That sounds like it was a blast. A pretty good list of actors. It is a shame, that Patrick Stewart didn't show up. I don't know if he ever attends these things. I need to check the internet, and see if the convention is going to make it to Houston anytime soon, or if at all.

Funny, one of the hot things the past week has been YouTube's roast of William Shatner, particularly George Takei's barrage.
