well this is it. the last straw. i'm sitting this [_] close to the darned screen to see the message board print. And this is *after* he enlarged the screen for me a tad. i have similar difficulties on the other board i frequent.

so it comes to this: time for glasses. apparently i'm the only one in the house who has trouble reading the fine print.

*goes off to try and read some of your fine stories and verse. you know. squinting and all. thanks a lot.*

When you press "Ctrl +" it'll pop the size of the font up. That's in Firefox. In IE there is a pulldown menu for it.
The cat spread its wings and flew high into the air, hovering to keep pace with them as they moved cautiously toward the city. Then, as they climbed over the rubble of what had once been a gateway and began to make their way through piles of weed-grown masonry, the cat flew to the squat building with the yellow dome upon its roof. It flew twice around the dome and then came back to settle on Jhary's shoulder. - The King of the Swords

if you oversize the text it becomes too "pixellish". i don't know how to describe it, except that it doesn't look like text and image and more like distorted dots?

glasses are on the agenda, it seems. *shrugs*

I had to get glasses a few years ago and I wouldn't be without them now. Not sure if it was because of the Baldur's Gate that I used to play that I ended up needing them but they were worth it. I can now see that pin on the floor over there... :)

Yep, nothing wrong with glasses! I've been wearing mine for years and have just discovered the joys of contact lenses (PERIPHERAL VISION!!! :) ) Mind you, some computer monitors can be awful on the eyes....

I've worn corrective lenses since the third grade; contact lenses since I was about 16. I envy people who at least remember what proper eyesight feels like

Yes, sometimes I feel the same, especially when my optician tells me that they'll probably not get any worse now when they're bad already! - Gee thanks mister!!!!!!!!!!! :)
