I'm interested in people's opinions on Chomsky.
Last night I finished Hegemony or Survival. Reading the book was stressful - My blood alternated between boiling (anger), freezing (terrified) and lukewarm (depressed resignation).
At times, I found it a bit hard to follow - there were references that maybe would've clicked more with Americans - but on the whole it was compulsive reading.
I'm not completely naive and I think I have a reasonable idea of what's going on behind the headlines (coloured, no doubt, by my political viewpoints which are to the left), but I was shocked at some of things he writes about. If only half of it is accurate, it's deeply worrying.
