    I just found out (unfortunately 12 hours after my radio show) that Alice Coltrane, former wife of John Coltrane, and a great jazz artist in her own right passed on last week at the age of 69. Here is the announcement from Verve, and here is here artist page at Impulse!

    69 is far too young for such a life force to leave us.

    I am so sorry to hear that she passed away, what a great talent, I completely wore the grooves out on two lps of Lord of Lords.
