I picked up a couple more 79 cent bargains yesterday at a thrift store that's starting to turn into my new favorite place to shop for vinyl...
The Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame (Columbia 1st Canadian Pressing)
Chuck Mangione - Fun And Games (A&M Records 1st US Pressing)

'Succubus,' he said. 'Lucky old me.'" - Michael Moorcock The Final Programme

I've picked up a number of old records in the last few months:- Black Sabbath - Paranoid
- Heart - Dreamboat Annie
- Blondie - Eat to the Beat and Parallel Lines
- Go Go's - Vacation
- Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
- Cheap Trick at Budokan
A few caught my notice because of the gatefolds or inserts, but it was mostly just lucky happenstance.

Yesterday, I acquired copies of, The Who - The Best From Tommy & Roxy Music - Flesh + Blood. I went to see the Tommy movie, as an impressionable 14 year old. A mind blast, with luscious Anne Margaret, phenomenal Tina Turner & rockin' Elton John. The original, stripped down, band version is pretty brilliant. Flesh + Blood, is sans Brian Eno and well into the smoochy dancing Bryan Ferry end of the spectrum, but Ferry still manages a blinding version of Eight Miles High. Lovely stuff!

Today, I was a bit naughty. I'm now the proud possessor of copies of the Rolling Stones' Aftermath & Between The Buttons. Originally released in 1966 & 1967, these are a bit more recent (1979 & 1980), pressings. If you've ever wondered what Jerry Cornelius was listening to, back in the day... I'd definitely wager on these being in his collection.

I have a couple of tracks by Francis Bebey on my, Spotify, list, but I had no idea that the double album, Francis Bebey: Psychedelic Sanza 1982-1984, was available on vinyl. When I found out it was, I had to have a copy.

It's quite something. I played a track for my wife a while back & she said, 'That's a bit hypnotic, isn't it?'
I said, 'I think that's the idea.'
Maybe not for everybody, but it does just what it says on the tin.
