I chose Winona for those big sad convincing eyes. Her parts in Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Mr Deeds etc.etc. were very convincing. I think that W.R. is an actress that could portray any type of character and shouldnt be stereotyped as a sci-fi /horror actress exclusively.
Now if you asked which actress I would like to be stranded on a desert island with.....Halle Berry

I voted for Christina Ricci, Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep, Lauren Bacall, Katherine Hepburn ..., but OH, they are not on that list!
      Not my list then.

Well, that is because it asks you vote for the actress you like best of the 20 listed, rather than your favourite actresses of all time. :)

I don't think there's any reason why anyone else can't create their own poll if they don't like Lemec's choices.

David, don't take it so seriously. Lemec and I are not at odds at all. It is just a game.

Oh, I realise that - but the nature of the internet means posts may come over as more serious then they're intended to. :) Nonetheless, the fact remains anyone may create a poll if they think it will generate enough interest.

Or even if it won't. :)

              UMA THURMAN!!!

I like a lot of the others mentioned here, but I have chosen Uma for her ability to render so many, very, very different characters and always stay credible. And sexy. And classy. Voilà!

Hi LEtranger, also good choices! I like Ricci alot and of course like Hepburn for Rooster Cogburn (and the Lady). :D

I am a little poll crazy and have several others in mind that are ready to burst out. ;) I was going to go with movies and tv shows and some other things next, which in the discussion will probably have alot of fun and interesting talk about actors/actresses as they go hand in hand. :)

I love polls because it creates great talk.

Thanks again, David for your participation. :) I can always count on you for a hearty and delightful response!

                thanks all!

I've choosen Kate Beckinsale ( I'd like to see her as Cymoril or Catherine Cornelius ) but I loved also other actress as Jenny Agutter ( when I was a kid I was fallen in love with her ) or Linda Hamilton , Caroline Munro, Charlotte Rampling, Uma Thurman and Jennifer Connelly, but Halle Berry too...
                  I've exaggerated...I know.

Liv Tyler or Cate Blanchett would be my choices - but neither of those are on the list.

Kate Beckinsale is nice - although she's been in some truly atrocious movies over the last few years.
Batman: It's a low neighborhood, full of rumpots. They're used to curious sights, which they attribute to alcoholic delusions.

Robin: Gosh, drink is sure a filthy thing, isn't it? I'd rather be dead than unable to trust my own eyes!

There's many actresses I could vote for on that list, but they all pale into insignificance next to the simply delicious Jenny Agutter, who caused many a young man's pulse to get racing in the '70s & '80s. She's still has that 'sexy older woman' thing going these days as well. :D

Underworld Evolution has that beat I'm afraid. And what's more disturbing is that it is has a better cast, yet its ten times the train-wreck.

I like Morena Baccarin. She can act very well, but is not as well known as most of the others on the list. I do not know if Mili Avital has been mentioned on any other actress wish lists, but if not, she should be. She was in the movie "Stargate", and in the t.v. miniseries "Arabian nights", as Scheherezade. Beautiful woman, and a decent actress also. She could play either Cymoril, or Yishanna.
