There are a lot of good films in 'Poll 2' very close to taking the trophy.

I did manage to weed out my prize selections:

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930). For me, best on list no question.

The Abyss. A special effects masterpiece, and I love me some underwater filming and interesting camera work. Plus, all the actors came across as real people.

Above the Law. I felt that it had the more realistic variety of martial arts and violence. Plus, it was so very exciting when Seagal was new to audiences.

Big Trouble in Little China. Wondrous filmography. Neat effects. Comedy, martial arts, supernatural elements, myths, heroes, damsels in distress, weirdness! Wow!

(I suppose that we were spoiled by artists such as these, it makes me seek artistic and craft-work perfection in today's films)

American History X. It's important. This movie might save people from hanging around the wrong crowd. It shows that it might be a good idea sometimes to avoid giving in to certain macho representations. It might prevent some violent acts in society.

Band of Brothers would be #6, but I wanted to sacrifice some movies in order to find a concentrated best five films from each section.

Also, if I didn't place a limit, I would be picking 44 out of 45 each time!

    Thanks!
