    They are definitely very heavy going. I read the first trilogy years ago and though I liked the general story and ideas, I don't think I've ever got so angry at a main character/hero! I would literally shout at the book in frustration!

    I started the second set but got bored about 100 pages into it. Should give it a go again.

    I think someone aid earlier about Covenenat being very introspective. I'd agree I don't think that would translate well into film.
