I went with one of Mike's characters. He did a great job with airships, so a space fleet shouldn't prove too difficult for him. He adapts very well to whatever situation he's placed in.

I'll take Kirk because he considers all options (impossible ones included), doesn't like to lose and can bluff his way out of anything.

Cyrano de Bergerac as he can smell trouble a mile off...!
His Riverworld incarnation was rather an all-over-martial genius too.

At first I thought maybe, Flash Gordon of Buck Rogers. Now, I'm thinking maybe, Kimball Kinnison of the Lensmen. Or possibly, Lilandra Neramani. They've definitely both got the experience and flying hours necessary.

FemShep from the Mass Effect trilogy. Ideally the kickass Renegon version and redhead for preference. ;)
_"For an eternity Allard was alone in an icy limbo where all the colours were bright and sharp and comfortless.
_For another eternity Allard swam through seas without end, all green and cool and deep, where distorted creatures drifted, sometimes attacking him.
_And then, at last, he had reached the real world – the world he had created, where he was God and could create or destroy whatever he wished.
_He was supremely powerful. He told planets to destroy themselves, and they did. He created suns. Beautiful women flocked to be his. Of all men, he was the mightiest. Of all gods, he was the greatest."
