Petiton for Alan Moore's PROMETHEA!

Hello All,

Me & my online co-conspirator Guido have set up a petition as a show of support for an Absolute Edition of Alan Moore & JH Williams III’s brilliant PROMETHEA series. If we can get enough signatories, we’re hoping that the book will arrive sooner rather than (years) later. We have JHW3’s blessing in this venture.

So in the interest of summoning into existence such a fine and wonderful and possibly useful grimoire, here as follows is the petition link:

Hmm. Just noticed FIRING THE CATHEDRAL on my bookself, and recalled this connection between Moore & Moorcock, which of course lead me to think about Michael's TOM STRONG issues (looking forward to picking up the 2nd ish) and posit a subtopical thread: connections & correspondances between Mssrs Moore & Moorcock. Where else does their work overlap? Have they met? Reviewed each other's work?

I've known Alan since the late 70s. Haven't seen him for a while, but we talk on the phone from time to time. There's a witty homage to Kane of Old Mars, for instance, in the second series of League. I haven't reviewed Alan, but I am a great fan of his work, both prose and comics.

It'd be very interesting indeed if you, Michael, and Moore ever got around to interviewing each other via email. Say for Fantastic Metropolis...

Just a thought. Or maybe it's a hint.

Another Q for Mr. MM & everybody: just salivated over Eco's new book, which is littered with lovely reproductions of Italian pop culture, Flash Gordon comics, etc. Anybody read it yet? or have something to say about his other books, fictions & non-fictions?

Sinclair, BTW, is a freaking visionary writer. His style is so dense and poetic and perhaps shamanistic that it instills a genuine buzz, sort of like that first chapter of KING OF THE CITY. I read that at 3Am once and my mind was all hypercharged and I could not sleep till dawn despite being dead tired. A literary microdot of expolosive prose.

You all should check out his work. Any comments on this subject?

Uh-oh...

So Alan Moore severed all publishing agreements with DC this week and is moving League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to Top Shelf, which put out a new edition of his amazing novel VOICE OF THE FIRE.

So what you all's take on the ethical position RE the Promethea Petition, considering Moore's final falling out with DC (NB: Wildstorm, owned by DC, has always had an excellent relationship with him as far as I understand).

By pushing the petition, are we acting contrary to Moore's wishes (a presumption)?

Or is this a separate issue?

Me, I just want to see the AE book, but I'm curious as to what you bright and shinging people think...

Yep. MM often refers to him here as "Taffy." He has a cameo in the Multiverse graphic novel.
