BBC World Service: Ursula K. Le Guin, MP3 Podcast Available

Half asleep, I was listening to the BBC World Service, in the early hours of yesterday morning, when I realised I was listening to an interview with Ursula K. Le Guin. The interviewer, Owen Bennett Jones, asks some of the usual really dumb questions, like, 'How would you define science fiction?', 'What's the difference between SciFi and SF?', etc. Ms Le Guin was charming and gracious throughout. Also some very interesting and rather sad, background detail about her parents, one of their friends, anthropology and American history, which later came to be reflected in her work.

Well worth listening to, or downloading. It should be available, for about the next month.

Yes, I had exactly the same experience of listening to this in the early hours... only I came to only in the last 10 mins. Not a very good interviewer, but interesting to hear Le Guin speak.
