Apart from the many already mentioned, aka "the Usual Suspects" and various cover artists and the old TSR crowd I'd have to step up and say Tony DiTerlizzi (also once a TSR artist, having contributed to the AD&D Second Edition Monstrous Manual and was head artist for the Planescape setting), late of Spiderwick and Battle for Wondla fame.

You see, it's... it's no good, Montag. We've all got to be alike. The only way to be happy is for everyone to be made equal.

Why have I never heard of Chesley Bonestell until I saw a reference to him in a book I'm reading? I've definitely seen his art before.

I recently discovered that I hadn’t lost two signed prints from John Picacio, who has done some amazing cocer
art. I thought they had gone missing in one of my many moves.

I've got some John Picacio on the wall in my front room. I adore his pencil work.

I love Doug Lefler's work. He has been a storyboard author and director of many films, his art is spectacular.

I know Bernie was not just a science fiction artist, but he has drawn many great ones.

Everyone thinks of his mixed media stuff (especially on his book covers), but he is so good at making two dimensions come alive with anything.

I've always been fond of Brom. He's a bit twisted but all true artists are touched by some form of madness. His depictions of Elric are some of my favorites. Here's one:
