Mike, now that Darkhorse Comics has something of a success on their hands with the new Conan comic and now that Elric is back in action over at DC, would you be interested in teaming Elric with Conan again? In a perfect world, Barry Smith would draw it and get a chance at a "proper" Elric, but I'd certainly love to see your current collaborator Walter Simonson on it as well.

Crickey, what a great idea! The cat spread its wings and flew high into the air, hovering to keep pace with them as they moved cautiously toward the city. Then, as they climbed over the rubble of what had once been a gateway and began to make their way through piles of weed-grown masonry, the cat flew to the squat building with the yellow dome upon its roof. It flew twice around the dome and then came back to settle on Jhary's shoulder. - The King of the Swords

Would it be improper to ask what the chances of a Conan/Elric/Slaine* team-up would be?
Apart from not very?
*For non-UK, non-2000AD readers see here for who this character is. :)_"For an eternity Allard was alone in an icy limbo where all the colours were bright and sharp and comfortless.
_For another eternity Allard swam through seas without end, all green and cool and deep, where distorted creatures drifted, sometimes attacking him.
_And then, at last, he had reached the real world – the world he had created, where he was God and could create or destroy whatever he wished.
_He was supremely powerful. He told planets to destroy themselves, and they did. He created suns. Beautiful women flocked to be his. Of all men, he was the mightiest. Of all gods, he was the greatest."

If Chaosium ([broken link]) and Mongoose Publishing could agree, a Conan/Elric (Dragon Lords of Melniboné)/Slأ،ine d20/OGL RPG scenario would be possible! :)

PS. That's actually what I have in store for my sons in our next d20 campaign...Last edited by Rothgo; 04-24-2010, 05:49 AM.

No plans to team with Conan again. I did talk on a DVD supposed to accompany a reissue of the Conan movies, but don't know if it was ever used. Nothing against REH, of course, but don't think it's that easy to do.Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:
The Whispering Swarm: Book One of the Sanctuary of the White Friars - The Laughter of Carthage - Byzantium Endures - London Peculiar and Other Nonfiction

I find that Elric and Conan are two entirely different charecters to make a satisfacturaly decent crossover... plus, I don't think we could get away with Elric just losing his temper and killing Conan with Stormbringer.
I tried to read the Conan stories, but I couldn't really get into them. The Solomon Kane stories were more of an improvement to me.

I find Solomon Kane a more interesting character. A shame they couldn't do a SK movie, rather than Bran Mak Morn, which is bound to be little more than an Irish slasher. Speaking of Irishmen, however, I was rather impressed by Cillian Murphy, who played one of the villains in Batman Begins and tended to outact many of the people with larger roles. Anyone else familiar with him. I thought he might make a decent Elric.Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:

Didn't see The Scarecrow. Was it a movie or was he the villain of a movie?Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:

So there is! (See here.) I'd missed that. To be directed by Peter Berg (The Rundown/Welcome to the Jungle). (I can't quite see The Rock as BMM!)
Another Universal film... how will its success determine the Elric movie's fate?
If they're both successful, then several sequels later we will see Elric v. Bran Mak Morn comic book by Dark Horse and eventually a movie.

Originally posted by ThongorCillian Murphy might indeed make a good Elric. I thought he did a good job in Batman begins, thought that was the first time I'd seen him in anything.
