I am a hugh fan of mr.M and when my wife got me Elric in America I learned that BOC were doing a song about the Black Blade and hoped that I could find out the album title so that I could get her to pick it up for me.So if anybody knows could you PLEASE post the name Thank you muchly

You presumably know about the Hawkmoon Chronicle of the Black Blade, which was an entire Elric stage show and concept album ?

Personally, my favorite Blue أ–yster Cult LP is Fire of Unknown Origin. It has Veteran of the Psychic Wars. Heh.

I only have one BOC album, Mirrors, which is not a favorite of most fans. It does, however, have a really great track on it Vigil, which I still love as much now as when I heard it in 1979.

Bad news this morning. Jimmy Smith died. Great hero of my generation, especially keyboard-based R&B bands.

There seem to be a lot of old rockers passing away at the moment - Spencer Dryden from Jefferson Airplane, Jim Capaldi, Keith Knudsen from The Doobie Brothers to name a few, all within the last few weeks.

When I posted about the BOC Mirrors album, I completely forgot that MM is co-credited as writing one of the other tracks, The Great Sun Jester! :oops:

I haven't listened to the album for some considerable time, must dig it out. Vigil has always stuck with me because of the guitar work on it. Did you have any involvement with the recording of your track Mike or did you just write the lyrics?

No, I had nothing to do with the recording. I did do my own version of Black Blade (my music as well as lyrics) which I performed with The Deep Fix, but I think I prefer their version!
