To Michael Moorcock: Will US fans be allowed to enjoy ....

I was hoping to discover if US fans of Michael Moorcock's ELRIC series would ever be so honored to own actual replica of STORMBRINGER.
Other than the very limited Raven-Armoury edition I was hoping that a US based quality Armoury could obtain the rights to make a piece that we could own. With all the sucess of The Lord Of the Rings cutlery items I believe the US market is more than ready.

Nothing yet. For the same reason the books aren't out there, my agent's asked me to hold out for a while before making any US deals.

Any reasons behind the position to wait? For years the US has enjoyed your books and goods, I cherish my Elric collection of books and never new we no longer had them available until I went to replace my copies with a newer ones and found nothing in the large chain stores. I really feel that the Armoury/Prop industry is at a all time high, companies like United Cutlery have seen unheard of sucess with thier LOTR line of swords and items and it seems to me that anyone in the Fantasy book world would really see a surge in sales in all areas, people all over the US and the UK have thier walls covered with Movie and Book Prop swords and I know that here in the US the number 1 Sword people are asking for is from your Books (Stormbringer) I for one have desired one for a decade and it appears that the market is in its all time high.
Can you shed anymore light on your reservation to hold back in the US or any possible plans in the future?

Part of the problem lies with the fact that we've sold rights to Universal, pending the movie. My agent believes he'll be able to negotiate better for the books, for instance, once the movie is in production. I think the Raven Armory sword is still available and that they leased the rights to another firm to do a cheaper edition. Have you checked the site ? You can also get the English editions of the Elric books via Amazon UK (if you scroll down the US Amazon site it gives you alternative sites around the world). These don't cost any more from the UK. Or you could buy the UK editions from John Davey, who might also know something about the sword's availability, too. Why don't you check out the Jayde Design site and see what he has on offer ?
Meanwhile, it shouldn't be too long before stuff becomes available again in the US.
