Molly Ivins and Texas Slang

Mike, I read Molly Ivins' column in the Seattle Times yesterday and in it she mentioned Bush's inability to admit to mistakes.

She then wrote, "we have a crude expression for this we use in Texas that was used about Bush years before he became president..."

Unfortunately, she doesn't elaborate. Do you know this crude expression and if so would you share it with us? I'm dying to know what anti-Bush Texans call him!

Hmm. The list is endless. I don't know of any specific word used by anti-Bush Texans. But if something comes to mind, I'll let you know! I could ask Molly next time I meet her (she's not a friend, but we move in the same circles) and will try to remember to do so.

By the way, she made it sound like it was a term referring specifically to not being able to admit to one's mistakes (which is something I think Bush will end up having to do eventually).

I'm also assuming it's too crude to be printed in the paper. :twisted:

I laugh every time I read Omaru's post.

I may not know what Molly Ivins called him, but I can attest to "dickhead" being a relatively common term for him here in Texas.

Dumb people feel that maintaining a prejudice is the same as conforming to a principle. That's a problem Bush has in common with many of those who see him as 'strong'. I see him, of course, as weak.
