There's a new blog entry (from Mike) added to the Home Page detailing his Forthcoming Work:
ETA: According to Mike here the title of the JC novel is MODEM TIMES, so I've amended the Blog accordingly.
A PORTRAIT IN IVORY is the Elric short. More a cameo, really, showing a little more of Elric's character. It's appearing in a book in which authors were asked to pick words (I picked 'Insouciant') from the US national spelling bee and write a story around them.
THE METATEMPORAL DETECTIVE is all the Seaton Begg stories collected and will appear next year from Pyr, with a cover by John Picacio.
The ELRIC BOOKS will begin reappearing next year from Del Rey in the order they were originally written, plus new material, much of which has either not been collected in the Elric books before or hasn't been collected at all, including scripts of graphic novel versions and so on. There will be six volumes done one every three months in much the same style as Del Rey's Howard volumes, with new specially commissioned illustrations as well as 'archive' pictorial material. Trade paperback format.
THE FLOATING FOREST will appear in a book called, I believe, Cross Plains Univrse. It's a tribute to Howard and has, I'm told, some superb material in it, taking many different readings of Howard. Mine is pretty conventional and features Rakhir the Red Archer.
THE SHADOWMEN VOLUME THREE will contain a Lapointe, the French Metatemporal Detective, story called THE AFFAIR OF THE BASSIN D'HIVERS.
Nightshade have commissioned John Davey to do a BEST SHORT STORIES OF MICHAEL MOORCOCK collection.
INTERZONE plan a special issue (I believe the 200th) featuring much of my work in progress, including part of THE SEDENTARY JEW and an interview with Andy Hedgecock.
I am doing a text, which will appear in French, for Mervyn Peake's 'Sunday Books' (drawings done for his young sons in the 1940s), including some comic verse and nonsense stories in the manner of Peake.
I am writing a memoir called LOVERS, a personal book about the Peakes, to be published next year by Methuen.
I am writing a personal memoir provisionally called A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN THE BLITZ, also for Denoel. We have yet to choose the illustrator.
That, too, will appear in French, though part of it will also appear in the Interzone issue, most probably.
I'm also working on a new Jerry Cornelius novel, which might or might not work out, provisionally called PRATTLE.
And I'm working on a book (or a long novella) called ALSATIA, set in that area of London, now gone, which became a sanctuary under the aegis of the Carmelite monks near Fleet Street.
Think that's about it.
Otherwise, I'm retired....
