Today there is an ongoing calamity for the Amazon rainforest and its indigenous people; in the case of the Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro a future legal reckoning in The Hague ...possibly.

An article on this subject from The Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...zon-rainforest

    Somewhat related, but different: https://wearenotdivided.reasonstobec...econciliation/

Here's hoping the parties involved can come together sometime in 2021.

I am now very worried about the idea of an international consortium managing the Amazon forest especially because I am certain that many of these altruistic foreign nations actually want to put their hands in what is inside and beneath it. On the other hand, every government here in Brazil including Bolsonaro the "ignarus", saint 51 Lula, wise like shit Dilma, or Fernando Henrique Cardoso's baffled erudite have all of them made nothing to preserve the area. In all possible honesty, I am now just hoping just not to become a new Cuba, Venezuela, or North Corea or having to change my lifestyle to the ones in China or India. Anything else I can cope with.

It has been a long time since the indigenous amazon people have lost their naiveness.
