Browsing through a Book Collectors News repro that I recently obtained from John Davey (made available to Nomads members) I was interested to see an advert for the Edgar Rice Burroughs Club. Mike was president (presumably you were behind it all, sir) and Honorary President was Peter Noble. I've always been aware of Noble's books in the entertainment field (indeed I have several, including a Bette Davis bio from the late 40s), but I'd never pictured him as a Burroughs enthusiast. How did he come to be involved? Is there anyone well known that Mike hasn't had contact with somewhere down the line...?

You do so MUCH... if half of what goes into your zines is to be believed, you've read more at the age of 17 than I have at the age of 32 - LOTS more'

Peter Noble wrote an article sometime around 1956 in which he admitted a liking for Burroughs (as I recall). I can't remember where the article was, though he tended to appear in film magazines, but I phoned him and asked him if he'd like to be Honorary President and he graciously agreed.
I had a letter somewhere confirming this. It's possible it's in the Bodleian.Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:
