New Worlds project... dead in the water?

Since I've been gone from both MM, PX and my own forum, I have wondered over a vague reference made by Mike before the site crashed, and that was of the chance of New Worlds returning. I wondered, ince its been several months since that post was made by the Bearded One, I wondered what is the current stand on that project? I myself would love nothing better, seeing that heroic fantasy seems hard to sell with the current markets (Realms of Fantasy gearing toward urban fantasy, and Weird Tales a of that dread word "revamp").

So, what's the word on the street?

Should NW return (and it won't for a while until my work load lightens a bit) it would publish new non-generic fiction, not sword and sorcery or anything close to generic sf or fantasy. There is room for such a magazine, but it's nothing I'd be likely to be involved in, I fear. At present, I'm so far behind with various commissions that I'm going to have to work hard for the rest of this year just catching up on fiction and non-fiction I've promised to people.
