Check out Fabulous Harbours and also Argosy No 1 (the new one) which has a long Seaton Begg story, The Affair of the Texas Twister. I am planning some more and also thinking of bringing out a book of Sir Seaton's adventures. He also turns up in the Tom Strong story I did (Black Blade of the Barbary Coast) earlier this year. And he was also in Michael Moorcock's Multiverse. Glad you like him. He's my current favourite series character!

I'd certainly line up to buy a whole book of Sir Seaton stories, Mike. The stories in Fabulous Harbors are great, and isn't there a version of Sir Seaton in the Masked Buckaroo story in Tales from the Texas Woods? Don't have my copy handy just now.

Ah, I'm about halfway through Blood right now, so I'll be getting to Fabulous Harbors soon. Very cool. I'd love to read more SB--I'll have to go look for a copy of Argosy 1 online somewhere! Thanks for the tip.

Having said that, I placed a order for Argosy #1 on that site about two months ago and I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

That's actually a Sherlock Holmes story, Thongor. Originally written for my friends who were running a small hotel in Dorset Street (off Baker Street) where the story is mostly set. I'd probably include it in the book, though, since it's never appeared in a commercial collection. Oh, maybe Sir Seaton was in the Masked Buckaroo story, too, come to think of it!
He first appeared, as I recall, in a story I wrote for The New Statesman's Christmas issue a few years back.

Yep, Begg's in the Buckaroo story, The Ghost Warriors. I found it. And the Sherlock Holmes story is a lot of fun as well. Interesting bit of information on why you wrote the Holmes story, Mike. I think I originally read that one in the Mammoth Book of New Sherlock Holmes stories where it's titled The Adventure of the Dorset Street Lodger rather than the Adventure of the Texan's Honour. Like to see Begg meet up with Holmes at some point. That would be fun.

Well, some 78 days after I ordered it from Coppervale, my copy of Argosy #1 with the Texas Twister novella *finally* turned up in the post this morning. I'd fair given up all hope of receiving it before Christmas! :lol:

What irks somewhat is that it seems the package wasn't actually posted until November 3rd, but the novella itself a lovely slim 80 page book so I shall look forward to reading it this weekend. (And they did throw in a free copy of issue #2 as compensation, so mustn't grumble too loudly.)

I'd say if you're prepared to endure a long wait for it to arrive, then it's well-worth ordering (see link above) if you want a copy of Mike's novella.

It's a nice production, and the content isn't so bad, either :lol:

I applaud the publishers for doing something as ambitious as they have. If their first few issues are indicative of quality, I hope they can stay afloat for awhile. It seems that too many high quality publications go out of print right as they are finding their stride.

BTW Demos, Issue 2 as compensation for a mail delay seems fair., especially given the cover price. Having said that, I know how much I anticipate the mail every day when I'm waiting on a package. I'm disappointed every day until it arrives. :(
