Interesting reading to be found. There is some spam. If you know how to get a hold of this archive, let me know as I'd like to get it into a forum.
The cat spread its wings and flew high into the air, hovering to keep pace with them as they moved cautiously toward the city. Then, as they climbed over the rubble of what had once been a gateway and began to make their way through piles of weed-grown masonry, the cat flew to the squat building with the yellow dome upon its roof. It flew twice around the dome and then came back to settle on Jhary's shoulder. - The King of the Swords

          Hi Berry---

I forgot to look on my PC back in KS while visiting a couple of weeks ago. I'll check when I arrive there again next week.

          Hi Dave :D

            Hullo Allan

Hope all is well with you.

Time flies, eh? Seems like that Dragoncon was just...over a decade ago...

            Cheers

Heh, instead of almost two... :D

              How've you been Dave?

FYI Berry, I emailed you a zip file of the a.b.mm archives I had, but never heard back from you, so perhaps it was caught in your spam filter??

Hi, Allan, hi Dave.... Couldn't resist responding to some old names I recognized :)

Dragon*Con.... Perhaps frighteningly, I'm still a director of it.

Glad to hear it came through OK, Berry.

Paul---I was just thinking of you a few weeks ago. How's life? When's the next gathering of the Nomads? :D :D

                      How's life?
Doin' pretty well. Just bought my first house. Lots of stuff going on; my website at http://www.paulcashman.com has more info. Indeed, maybe too much. :D

When's the next gathering of the Nomads? :D :D
At the next Conjunction of the Million Beers, when all drinks are possible. :D

It's a Usenet group, so there's no owner/operator as such as it isn't moderated. There would have been someone who nominated it originally, posting a proposal to alt.config, and then there would have been a vote. But that'd be about it.

Once they're created they get propagated everywhere. I'm sure it existed when I was at university in 1994.

                          hey paul,

it really is like old home week at the time centre!

somewhere in the archives i probably even have your first response to me from when i joined Nomads (puzzling over my horrible handwriting and questionable writing style). i miss the days when i would sit down to (hand) write a long letter. these days folks are lucky if they get a 5 line email.

(might as well insert apologies here if i owe anyone reading this a response...)

                          cheers

It does my dusty old heart good to know that my fellow oldies are still robbing trams, riding horseback and dropping scale any ole time they please.

That was me, btw, via the kind auspices of the University of Kansas' postmasters :D

The files I sent to Berry should contain the first several hundred posts to the forum.
