I am a huge fan of the stories involving the Rose, Captain Quelch, Las Cascadas, crusaders, Moors, piracy on the high seas, etc. I just wondered if you ever planned a book which would detail more of this quasi-historical Mediterranean world you hint at in "The Skrayling Tree", "Fabulous Harbors" and some of your other stories? An entire book of pirates and daring deeds?

Great idea. If they like my Tom Strong outline, that's exactly what I'm proposing in that story -- Captain Zodiac summons a great meeting of the pirates to take part in an expedition to Mangani Island... I haven't heard yet if they like the outline.Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:

The first issue of Moorcock's Tom Strong came out last month. My shop sold out, but I re-ordered it. A damn good read, but no sign of Quelch yet. Rose, Zodiac and Begg were all there, as well as the cast of Tom Strong (a fantastic pulp comic, all back issues available in decently priced trade editions). A great start for the two parter. Wish it could be longer, though. I always liked Rose and Quelch.
Anyway, the next issue should be hitting soon. If your comic shops are sold out of #1, they can be re-ordered. Just ask.

I'd love to write some more about Quelch and the others. It depends, of course, if Tom Strong or someone else wants to read more about them, too! If I come up with a fresh idea, in which these characters could star, I intend to try it with DC. However, it seems a bit previous to start submitting ideas before the Elric series has all come out (Walter's just finishing the third one -- of four -- and very fine it is, too) or before the Tom Strong is completed. If they sell well enough, I'm sure I'll be able to do some more eventually. I'm enjoying doing scripts for comics, as a matter of fact. Unfortunately, though Multiverse remains in print and sells reasonably well, it wasn't exactly a runaway success. It appears that US readers aren't used to the kind of weekly serials we used to run in the UK comics and many found the method confusing!Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:
