... as the specialist said yesterday when she looked at my foot. Apparently two pieces of infected bone had gone and had new flesh grow over them. One piece left, might be a little harder to get growth, but we're trying. I'm very impressed by the French system. The French system seems pretty impressed with me (and Linda)! I'm even getting a wheelchair soon, which will enable me to get to the odd restaurant as well as the Luxembourg Gardens. I'm not complaining, since most of the week up until yesterday I was being told by all that I had, realistically, to consider some amputation. Not out of the foret yet, but definitely looking at a hop in the champs. So thanks again all of you for your good thoughts, which I'm convinced did much to help, along with Docteur Jeanne and Matron Linda...

I wish you the very best of good fortune with what remains to be healed. I've heard many good things about the French health service. I'm glad to hear, for you at least, that the reports are true.

I'm doing my best to celebrate Bastille Day. I was much looking forward to it, since it falls so close to Linda's birthday. Sadly, our apartment looks inward onto the courtyard, so we won't see any fireworks. I'm watching the parade on TV, but they keep showing a prolonged interview with Chirac. No interview with a politician is ever THAT interesting... :)Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:

Very Good News indeed! :D
Always sending Maximum Good Vibrations towards Moorcockian Space.
My cat Missy is sending hers, too. Right now she's deep in the Seventh Plane of Feline Meditaional Awareness (either that or she's asleep).

Thanks, pard. I think Bill and Betty are communicating with Missy, judging by the odd twitch of their whiskers... :)Pre-order or Buy my latest titles in Europe:

Long live the new flesh! (apologies to David Cronenberg) :D Glad to hear things are sounding better, we've all been worried about you pard :('You know, I can't keep up with you. If I hadn't met you in person, I quite honestly would NOT believe you really existed. I just COULDN'T. You do so MUCH... if half of what goes into your zines is to be believed, you've read more at the age of 17 than I have at the age of 32 - LOTS more'

Will Bastille Day result in even more bottles being recycled below you? Let's hope they stick to those cardboard boxes of wine (or is that a punishable crime in France?) Either way, glad to read the good news, and hope we'll be reading even good-er news soon. :D"That which does not kill us, makes us stranger." - Trevor Goodchild

Way to go, Mike. I've no idea how this Positive_Mental_Attitude thing works... but I'm glad it does. :D
Happy Bastille Day to you and Linda._"For an eternity Allard was alone in an icy limbo where all the colours were bright and sharp and comfortless.
_For another eternity Allard swam through seas without end, all green and cool and deep, where distorted creatures drifted, sometimes attacking him.
_And then, at last, he had reached the real world – the world he had created, where he was God and could create or destroy whatever he wished.
_He was supremely powerful. He told planets to destroy themselves, and they did. He created suns. Beautiful women flocked to be his. Of all men, he was the mightiest. Of all gods, he was the greatest."
