I just finished reading Dragon in th Sword, and it was great (no surprises there). However, I must say that there was one aspect to the ending that didn't meet the expectation I had about it.
Basically, I was expecting that once he's John Daker again, he'd see his wife (the one he said he was starting to forget in The Eternal Champion), and find that Ermizhad looked like her. This is not because I wanted there to be a "happy" ending in which he is reunited with his love. Rather I just assumed that it would be how Michael would express the idea that you don't need to look beyond what you have to find beauty and happiness (which I take to be the message at the end of the book).
I do not mean this as a criticism, really. But I am curious about whether anyone else expected something similar.
