Wow. This one was just as good as the first Erekose book. Just a few of my favorite things:

1) Urlik Skarsol wielding Stormbringer!
2) Bladrak Morningspear: a great character
3) The entire City of Moon sequence
4) The plot twist ending, with the death of the Lady of the Chalice
5) Shanosfane, another great character

So far, none of the books I've read of yours, Mike, disappointed me. I'll probably read the Sundered Worlds next.

In a way 'Terraphiles' is the Sundered Worlds I wish I'd written!

Given your comment above Mike ("'Terraphiles' is the Sundered Worlds I wish I'd written") and in light of the fact that the 1992 Roc paperback edition of Sundered Worlds was emblazoned with the legend "The First Book of the Multiverse", would you suggest Terraphiles as a potential 'jumping on' point* for the EC saga for new readers?

*Alongside The War Hound and the World's Pain and The Eternal Champion, naturally.

It's from a detailed rough which I'm sure Jim did, though it could have been me, too! Wrecks, of course, is Jim. I wanted Penguin to use all Cawthorn artwork on their covers but someone there didn't agree. That said, our roughs were used by the art dept when commissioning the other covers.

When the White Wolf Omnibus came out, and had the order of:
The Eternal Champion
The Sundered Worlds
The Phoenix in Obsidion
...I had never considered that. I reread them in that order and thought that they worked perfectly that way!

Honestly, 2 of my alltime favorite books are the Sundered Worlds and The Phoenix in Obsidian. Honestly two of your best books, I think, Mike. I'm really looking forward to Terraphiles (it's on the "vacation list", so it's about 5 months away or so.) Obviously we all have some books that fire on more cylinders than others for us, and those two really sat well with me. And thus they are some of the few that I made time to reread.
