New Deep Fix CD?

Dear all,

Well, I've just taken delivery of the new C.D. by Michael Moorcock & The Deep Fix, called 'Roller Coaster Holiday'.

For anyone who's interested, it's not a brand-new Deep Fix album, as such, but a selection of alternative takes &/or mixes, early workouts, instrumental and acoustic versions from original sessions for 'The New Worlds Fair' (their 1975 album).

Every effort has been made to select the best, most-different-from-the-released, complete versions available, running in the same order as the whole original album (and including the 'Dodgem Dude'/'Starcruiser' single + 3 bonus tracks). I should also point out that I've been heavily involved in every aspect of this project, and can highly recommend it!

I'm sure they'll be sending you copies. The Christmas mail will doubtless slow things down, though.

I've also asked 'em if Graham C. & Steve G. will be getting copies. If not, I guess we'll have to work something out.

Not that I got any freebies, mind you. No, I had to pay for mine!

That said, they've done an absolutely smashing job on it. With me looking over their shoulders...

You're in the middle, the guy to your right has glasses and long black hair, the guy to your left has longish light brown hair.

Which is Steve and which is Graham?

Thanks! Funny the blurb doesn't mention that there actually was a Deep Fix band -- and that's Graham on my right, Steve on my left and Pete Pavli (unpictured). We did all the core tracks and the other musicians came in to the studio. We did, of course, draw from our Hawkwind friends, but Snowy and Kumo, for instance, had no links with Hawkwind.
Anyway, I look forward to it and will be able to say more about it when I get my copies! Which I'm assuming I will at some stage. That picture is one I don't think I've seen before and comes from a photo session done at Battersea Fun Fair just at the moment of its being knocked down. Nostalgic moment.

Still, there should be copies around somewhere, I'd have thought.
However, I don't think I got free copies of almost any record I was on except the Flicknife issues. Usually because I've forgotten about it and am doing something else by the time it comes out. Since I'll be retired from 18th December, I'll have more time to pursue these things, I hope.

Amazon.co.uk is not always fastest off the mark. Particularly with Voiceprint, for some reason, in my experience.

About a year ago, I was eagerly awaiting the re-release of Bob Calvert's 'Test-tube Conceived' (from Voiceprint), only to watch in horror as the date on Amazon kept creeping back every couple of weeks. Finally, I checked Voiceprint's own site, and Doh! :x The CD had been out for a month or so. I ordered it directly from Voiceprint, and it arrived, before, apparantly, Amazon got any copies... :)

It's a cracker, by the way :D
