To continue generating what might become much-needed funds, we are selling off the last of Gene’s artwork, as well as some books and comics. Gene hopes to continue signing comics for the CGC Signature Series. If you have comics that you would like to put through this process, please contact me ASAP.

I am now taking private bids on the below items. To bid send an email to [email protected] - put “Colan Auction Bid” in the subject. In the body of your email, indicate the item # that you are bidding on and its description.

WALTER SIMONSON ELRIC: MAKING OF A SORCEROR DRAWING!

    Hero Initiative; benefiting Gene Colan!

Walter Simonson says, "I wanted to let you know that a copy of Elric: The Making of a Sorcerer is up on eBay for auction. It's being auctioned to benefit Gene Colan, a comics artist who's had some tough times recently. I've done a drawing of Elric on the inside front cover, and Mike and I are both going to sign the book before sending it to whomever wins the auction. The listing isn't very clear about that I'm afraid, but I did want to make sure that the Multiverse folks knew about it."

Looks like a variant of The Rose's sword Swift Thorn. This is the Gene Colan of Daredevil and Howard the Duck fame.

"This AMAZING Walter Simonson original was created specifically for benefit of Gene Colan, as he continues to deal with multiple health issues.

    Quoth the Simonson:

"This is drawn on the inside front cover of the collected edition of Elric: The Making of a Sorcerer by Michael Moorcock and Walter Simonson."

This auction is presented by The Hero Initiative, the charity that helps comic creators in medical or financial need. Your winning bid is tax deductible. For more information, call 626-676-6354, or visit www.HeroInitiative.org

Also for auction is this tasty Thor, Iron Man, Hulk trio:

    Thor.Iron Man.Hulk

    Quoth the Simonson:

"Here's a scan of the drawing I did for Gene. Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk. The Hulk is riding a vehicle based on one Art Adams drew in our issues of the FF years ago.

"The art is pen and ink on a 14 x17 sheet of 74 lb. Paris Bleedproof Paper for Pens."
