I was just wondering how fast a fanbase started for your work after your first novels? Because it seems that you aquired a following quite early on in your writing career?

Yes, it did. Fanzines, of course, were there before websites, so that was the first expression. I also used to put out a regular mailing of news and information for anyone interested.
