Question: Cart or horse: Oak or Ram?

I'm re-reading the second set of Corum adventures, and was wondering which came first: reading Irish Myth and wanting to team it up with the EC, or t'other way round - looking for a way to insert the EC in the "real world", you stumbled on the Myth?

Basically: besides paying the bills - what inspired the second trilogy?

Initially it was Cornish stuff got me started. I went into Irish mythology as a sort of natural progression and because it was the first mythology I was ever exposed to via Padraic Colum's King of Ireland's Son -- my first school (Michael Hall in Sussex) probably has a lot to answer for.

I know what you mean, my friend! I've read it before and know what happens,

but the overpowering DOOM of the books is compelling me forward. Great tragedy.
