It's worth noting that we routinely disable (or ban) accounts that are known or suspected of being 'spam accounts' when we come across them. There are specific criteria that we use to decide whether a new registration is actually a 'spammer' or a 'spambot', so genuine accounts shouldn't be affected. However, in the unlikely event that an account is banned when it shouldn't be, please us the Contact Us link to contact an Administrator to alert us to this matter. Thanks.

_"For an eternity Allard was alone in an icy limbo where all the colours were bright and sharp and comfortless.
_For another eternity Allard swam through seas without end, all green and cool and deep, where distorted creatures drifted, sometimes attacking him.
_And then, at last, he had reached the real world – the world he had created, where he was God and could create or destroy whatever he wished.
_He was supremely powerful. He told planets to destroy themselves, and they did. He created suns. Beautiful women flocked to be his. Of all men, he was the mightiest. Of all gods, he was the greatest."

We'd also like to alert you to a typical difficulty in receiving our confirmation email. Sometimes that winds up in your Spam Filter/Junk Mail system. Please look there if you don't find it.

Also, AOL is notorious for not receiving emails from systems like ours. One work around is to use an alternate email address from a free service such as Gmail, Hotmail, Hushmail and etc.
Infinite complexity according to simple rules.

        Forgotten Password Issues

If perchance anyone should forget their Log In password, you can find the
        Lost Password Recovery Form here.

As regards the slightly different issue of Registration Difficulties, especially Account Activation please go to this thread, also here in the Welcome Centre.

To set up an avatar for use on Moorcock's Miscellany, follow these steps:
          1. Go to the User Control Panel - User CP
          2. Click on Edit Avatar
          3. Either select from the range of Pre-defined Old Multiverse Avatars, or
          4. Upload your own custom avatar
          5. To use a custom avatar, either:
            1. Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website, or
            2. Upload Image From Your Computer (browse to where the image is stored)
          6. Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 29.3 KB (whichever is smaller).

          8. Your new avatar should now be displayed in your Profile and posts.

To make your own avatar, one simply has to save an image of the appropriate size* to your hard-drive.
Right click on the image and save as... (Remember the name and location of the file you have saved.)
When you click on browse (Option 2), go to where you have saved the image and then click open.
Click on Save changes and you should have the avatar of your choice.

Alternatively, if you have image editing software you can chop or outline portions of your favourite image, or otherwise alter the size, and upload them in the same way from a location on your computer that you have remembered.

*= Google Image search thumbnails are a good resource. Simply right-click, etc...

You see, it's... it's no good, Montag. We've all got to be alike. The only way to be happy is for everyone to be made equal.
