I like it a lot. In fact, I decided your winged cat was the best of them, so I went with it.

Just reducing this .jpg image would look poopy, so I took this killer drawing of yours into Photoshop and re-drew it into a vector path. (We can now make the image as large or as small as we like without loss of quality because it is now no longer rasterized. Very good. We're set for t-shirts and posters later*.)

Then I flipped it so that the avatar would be facing in towards the forum.

Added a nifty three-pixel border, shifted the cat down and left for aesthetic reasons and we have a nice little 100x100 avatar:

*I would be happy to e-mail you the vectored Photoshop file,
    Hieronymus. Just say the word.

I quite often make my own avatars using Irfan View. It's a program that will open virtually any media file and I use it to cut out favourite portions of pictures to the size I want. I quite often use it to chop bits out of screen captures too. Very simple to use and free!

Hi Hieronymus, have you ever had mental images of a twisted little inter-dimensional time travelling dwarf that keeps getting his eyes clawed out by the very same cat of which you speak?

I know that this isnt the image that you were referring to, but I'll bet it's pretty close.

I seem to recall the foremost wing being mirrored and used as the wings of an eagle from a propaganda poster -- possibly Na2i or Waff*n SS propaganda. I can't seem to find an example, though.

Now you've got me on a winged-cat kick. Gonna go home tonight and draw some.

    I've lost my last reply...
    Thanks Doc.
I can try to do something, I'm not so good with Photoshop and its layers ( I prefer real brushes ), but I try to do them.
In the meanwhile I was talking about JR Meyers as Elric to a friend of mine.
So I've tried to modify a pict of him:

    In my opinion too.
I think it is a modified "chat noire" as body, I'm trying to remember me wher I've just seen these wings...

That particular winged cat reminds me quite a bit of the famous illustration for Le Chat Noir by Swiss artist Théophile Alexandre Steinlen.

Indeed. Were we separated at a young age, I wonder?
