  • Chaos at work in the Image Gallery

Berry, it seems some serious Chaos magic is at work in the Image Gallery.

Looks as if Chaos Engineers of senior status are needed to assess and (I hope) repair the damage.

Oh god. I don't know what this means.
The cat spread its wings and flew high into the air, hovering to keep pace with them as they moved cautiously toward the city. Then, as they climbed over the rubble of what had once been a gateway and began to make their way through piles of weed-grown masonry, the cat flew to the squat building with the yellow dome upon its roof. It flew twice around the dome and then came back to settle on Jhary's shoulder. - The King of the Swords

A little while ago (30mins?) the website was displaying the phrase 'ChrisHandy.org' in place of the Home page, and I couldn't access other parts of the site at all. Looks like there may have been a 'hi-jacking'. :(
_"For an eternity Allard was alone in an icy limbo where all the colours were bright and sharp and comfortless.
_For another eternity Allard swam through seas without end, all green and cool and deep, where distorted creatures drifted, sometimes attacking him.
_And then, at last, he had reached the real world – the world he had created, where he was God and could create or destroy whatever he wished.
_He was supremely powerful. He told planets to destroy themselves, and they did. He created suns. Beautiful women flocked to be his. Of all men, he was the mightiest. Of all gods, he was the greatest."

Our patron Lord of Law Wayne Witzel of Axign has changed the nature of a couple of realities. Important security changes. I'm going to have to drop scale and reroute a few tram lines. This should be trivial.

This is where we ordinary mortals get to sit back and watch the Champion(s) at work.

          Give thanks !

Alas I am unable to fix the problem myself. I've emailed Wayne with the suggested fix, but I don't know when he'll get to it.

In the meantime I'm escalating our alert level to:

            :cat: :cat: :cat:

            TRIPLE CAT ALERT

Sorry to alarm you Berry. Perhaps it was nothing. Googling 'Chris Handy' turned up the nugget that Chris Handy is the Assistant System Administrator for www.multiverse.org. In which case, I probably got the round end of the stick.

Did I miss something? All seems OK now, although when I tried to access the site just after midday UK time I just got an error message...
'You know, I can't keep up with you. If I hadn't met you in person, I quite honestly would NOT believe you really existed. I just COULDN'T. You do so MUCH... if half of what goes into your zines is to be believed, you've read more at the age of 17 than I have at the age of 32 - LOTS more'

Wayne has applied the fix I requested and we are back to normal.

                      END OF TRIPLE CAT ALERT

                        You fellows are seriously awesome.

Aral, there were some strange goings on in the Image Gallery; inaccessible albums all over the shop.

                        Seems to be fixed.

Looks as if some tweaking may still be needed in the IG; after a few disconcerting failures to log in, it will allow me to re-write a caption, then not use the "upload photos" command.

After a couple more goes it lets me upload, except right at the end it reports "Unable to make thumbnail."

                          Result: frustration.

Still, could be worse. A woman could have cut off my penis with a vegetable knife and thrown it out of the window of a speeding car. (Sorry... been watching Fight Club.)

I've just had a quick look through the image gallery and it seems to be ok. I haven't tried to upload anything, though, so can anyone confirm Guy's experience?

Guy, tell me which album and which image you are trying to work with.
