Hey everyone!
PMPress, our ever generous benefactors of contests related to Mike's latest books and their most excellent covers and contents, have once again reached deep down into their grab bag of goodies and come up with three prizes for an all new contest.
Well, since you guys aren't especially excited about contests, it'll be a sweepstakes again and there is a very simple way to enter:
Post (in this thread) in a synopsis of one of Mike's books or stories using a maximum of 124 characters. If 124 characters isn't enough, you have a second option: haiku. Since there are many forms of haiku, constrain your poetic-synopsis to the "5-7-5" form:
first five syllables
then seven more syllables
end with five and done
This isn't a competition so have fun with it. Please, refrain from pedantry! Haven't we all got better things to do with our time than counting syllables?
The concept of Mike-as-Pyat on the four covers was conceived by Michael and Linda in their discussions with designer John Yates and project editor Allan Kausch.
The outtakes (which are ©2010 by Linda Steele) that illustrate these sweepstakes (this being the first of three photographs) are from the Laughter of Carthage cover shoot, taken December 6, 2010 outside their home in Texas. We thought Misc. readers would like to see some of the shots that were considered, but not used. These are actual uncropped, unretouched photos from that day.
