If Julian Sands had a younger brother, I'd go more in that direction.
I always think of Elric as being so androgynous that he is more beautiful than handsome. Someone that looks like an elf in a world overflowing with brawny, dark-haired barbarians. I would hope that a Brit-Isles or Ire-man were to be chosen, because I'd hate his accent to be 'goofy'; likewise a relative 'unkown' would be preferable; and last but not least, sexy enough to make Het-males want him. Anyone meet these 'requirements' of mine? |

Here is a body shot Ian Somerhalder in the movie "rules of attraction".
![]() ![]() This head shot to me totally hints at him looking like a good albino Elric. His facial expression with a wry smile and very haunting ![]()

Interesting choice. I can see the facial structure in that lean shot, but his body-type is too stocky for his height, IMO.
Kinda nit-picking on the ephemeral qualities. Can this guy act with any conviction the emotions necessary to portray lord Elric? |

Ian Somerhalder can act fine. He played Marco Polo in a recent made for TV movie.
James Marsden as Yyrkoon. He played "Cyclops" in the X-Men movies. ![]()

Simon Woods. Guy who carried off Augustus in the second series of Rome.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but inspiration struck.
I've been recently watching the British TV series Foyle's War and one of the actors has really impressed me. Anthony Howell who plays Sgt. Paul Milner has a great natural presence about him. Anthony Howell as Arioch. ![]() ![]() Being able to pull off Arioch in a credible manner will be big challenge for any actor. Anthony Howell has the nuance to create a memorable Arioch in my humble opinion. It is hard to describe why he strikes a chord with me for the role of Arioch, but in my minds eye it is how I imagine him. The way he moves and the facial expressions. The tone and lucidity of his voice is a Lord of Chaos. |

Richard O'Brien would make a terrific Tanglebones.

David Tennant - he's a very determined actor and out to "prove" that he can do more than Dr Who (he alredy has to me) - though I might keep him in reserve for a new JC movie.

I posted this idea in another thread - that kid from Sweeney Todd (and the latest Twilight movie) - Jamie-something or the other. ![]() He's got the eyes for it, just not sure he has the height. He'd make a nice Elric if the movie is based on Elric of Melniboné. das

That's the face, alright--maybe a bit to young--give him a few years. |
